I love crappie fishing but I must confess I haven't done very well catching them here in Colorado. I've caught some at Cherry Creek at the tower, John Martin at the tressel, and a few nice ones at Pueblo but few and far between for nice slab size ones. I haven't had any of the 50-100 crappie days here in Colorado like I was used to back in Indiana. Probably John Martin holds your best chance for crappie (at the tressel); but, be careful of the wind at John Martin last time I was there I had to help rescue a boat that nearly sank because of the wind and waves. If you have any crappie secrets or hot spots drop me a line. I recently caught the 12 inch crappie pictured here in a northern cove at Pueblo on a 5 inch double tail Yamamoto. He must have been starving. Next time I'll try to target crappie hunting for them with minnows under a slip bobber then switching to a crappie jig once I locate fish.
