IMPROVED CLINCH KNOT: To tie the improved clinch knot: (1) stick the line through the eye of the hook or lure eye; wrap around 6 times and stick the end through the loop next to the eye. (2) Next, and most importantly, stick the tip back through the large loop running from the back of the knot to the front; (3) Then wet the line by sticking the knot in your mouth and cinch it down. Note: Wetting the line can reduce friction when tightening the knot, which if not done can weaken the line. Don't clip off the tag end too short, leave about 1/4 inch. Leaving this tag end is especially important if you use Fluoro Clear line, which is good line but tends to slip a little under stress.
