LINDY RIG FOR WALLEYE LINDY RIG: A Lindy rig consists of a sliding boot like sinker (shaped like a boot) usually 1/8 to 1/2 ounce. The boot shape allows the weight to skip along the bottom without getting hung up so easy and the fact that it slides lets the walleye pick up the bait without feling the weight. Run your line through the hole in the Lindy weight add a barrel swivel; then add a worm, minnow or leach harness; or, add a leader of 24-36 inches and your favorite lure or bait. A worm or leech hooked on a single # 4-6 hook is hard to beat. The folks at Sportsman's warehouse can show you exactly how to make them. Another trick, an old fishin buddy showed me is rather than running your line through the hole in the Lindy weight, put a snap on the Lindy weight then if you want to add or remove weight you can clip them on or off your line and send them down with out stopping your troll and wasting valuable fishin time. Carry several sizes of weights and don't be afraid to experiment with weights or leader length. I'll try to add pictures to the web site as soon as I get a chance. |
